PM Imran Reveals How Much Money is Offered for a Senate Vote from Balochistan
He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering in Kallar Syedan on Wednesday.
“I know this because I have been offered a Senate seat for money,” he remarked, adding that those who wanted to bribe him tried both direct and indirect means.
He maintained that opposition parties, including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), had agreed on open balloting in the Charter of Democracy but are now backing out to save their politics.
I had endorsed PML-N’s demand for an open ballot.
His remarks came a day after video evidence of horse-trading of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) lawmakers had surfaced on media. Hours after the video went viral, Prime Minister ordered the removal of the KP Law Minister, Sultan Mohammad Khan.
Khan had previously expelled all 18 PTI lawmakers from KP found guilty of selling their loyalties to a PPP Senator in 2018 Senate polls for millions of rupees.
Sultan was saved because of the lack of evidence against him and because he had reportedly taken an oath on the Holy Quran to prove his innocence. However, the video evidence that was leaked to the media on Tuesday had exposed his lies, after which he was relieved of his charge.
